6 Steps which makes fresh flowers last longer

You always feel delighted when someone gifts you a flower. It shows that the person thinks about you and is expressing his/her feelings towards you. By using below mentioned tips you can make the flowers last long and enjoy the feeling for longer time.

  1. Put the flower in water as soon as possible.
  1. Fill the bucket in third of half way with warm water. Flowers take warm water more easily than cold water. Flowers soak water from the bottom of its stem rather than its sides. Always clean foliage from the stem as it generates bacteria and makes the flower die quickly.
  1. Use secateurs to cut stems of flower. A slanted cut helps a flower to better intake of water. Take away all foliage from the stem of flower and place the flower in water instantly.
  2. Do not overcrowd the flowers. Allow each flower to consume air. Place the bucket in cool dark place and allow the flowers to have a long drink before being arranged.
  1. Allow flowers to drink water for 4 to 5 hours. This process is named as conditioning which makes the stems to drink water and the flower becomes crisp.
  1. Use flower preservatives to destroy bacteria in water.
